Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection Student and Teacher Edition ReviewI am having the exact same problem as the previous reviewer who was trying to get a working serial number for the "complimentary" After Effects and Premiere Pro CS4 for 32-bit support, that came in the box with the Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Master Collection, Student and Teacher Edition. I applied for my serial numbers, and received a perfectly good serial number for the CS5 components of the collection. However, there was no serial number provided to me for the CS4 components, which I need because I only have a 32-bit computer. If this were the retail version, the number would have been in the box, but it was removed from the Student and Teacher Edition. After several hours on the phone, being transferred back and forth between customer service and technical support, they finally generated two serial numbers for me, one for each program. That would be great if I had two separate programs, but the version included in the box seems to be some kind of combined support application, and it wanted ONE serial number for an application it called "Premiere Pro and After Effects CS4 for 32-bit Support." One window that said Pr + AE, with one place to put in a serial number. So neither of the two numbers they gave me worked, and I cannot seem to be able to convince them there is a problem. They keep telling me it's a problem with my computer and I need to talk to technical support. I actually was sharing my screen with a technical support representative at one point, and he couldn't figure it out either, and concluded I had the wrong serial number. And sent me back to customer service.
So, my recommendation is that if you've got a 64-bit computer, or if you have a 32-bit computer but you don't need After Effects and Premiere Pro, this is a great package of software. If you have a 32-bit computer and you need either of those two programs, DON'T BOTHER. I've been on the phone with Adobe every other day for a week and a half (for hours at a time), and this problem doesn't look like it's ever going to be resolved.
UPDATE: A representative from Adobe called me back, and she finally solved the problem!! Somehow she and her supervisor got their system to generate one serial number for the combined CS4 components, and it worked. So, I'm giving this product three stars instead of one, but keep in mind that it took me somewhere around 11 hours on the phone altogether to get this resolved.
