DxO Optics Pro 7 Elite Edition ReviewIf you are a photographer who shoots in raw format, this product is a dream. Besides the some 5,000 camera/lens combinations it is optimized for, it is also an extremely organized "one page" application that allows you to take a comprehensive look at your entire shoot with any number of preset parameters automatically applied to your raw files, (beyond just the lens/camera corrections for things like distortion and chromatic aberation.) You can set up profiles for a type of photo session, a specific lens, camera, or any combination of these and take out a ton of the repetitive work normally involved in processing raw files.
Another thing worth mentioning is that the interface is very elegant, and complements the pictures you are working on well. This is important to me, and actually I think it lends strongly to me having a hard time taking breaks from my workflow!
Keep in mind that it is powerful software best utilized on a capable computer. I am shooting with a 5D Mark II and use this to bake .tiff files that typically end up being around 140 MB each. On an i7 quadcore machine running at 3.9 Ghz, with a SSD, this takes about 10 seconds, and it really kicks up the core usage during this time, as well as what appears to be as much as 2 to 3 gigs of RAM usage. I don't know how much the software adapts itself to various levels of machine capability, just relaying my experience with my own system.
